Integrity

Faith in local government is something that must be earned one decision at a time, by officials who hold themselves to a standard whether anyone's watching or not. I believe in one standard, applied the same way every time, regardless of the situation. 

Indiana's ethics code (42 IAC 1-5) applies to state employees, not town officials but this is my commitment to you:

• Written disclosure and automatic recusal from any vote or contract decision where I, my family, or my business has a financial interest — disclosed before the vote, not after, matching the conflict-of-interest standard state employees follow (42 IAC 1-5-6, 1-5-7).

• No gifts, favors, meals, or travel from anyone doing business with the Town, or seeking to — the same standard Indiana holds its own state employees to under the state's Gift Rule (42 IAC 1-5-1).

• No directing Town time or resources toward anything outside official Town business — the same restriction state law places on state employees (42 IAC 1-5-13).

With the right standards in place, Long Beach can be a well-run municipality that makes its residents proud.  That's the future I'm working toward, and I'd be honored to have your vote to help build it.
